2026年度科学展上,福州西湖国际学校各年级学子展出了令人印象深刻的各类实验,充分展现了他们将创造力、科学思维与实际问题解决能力相结合的成果。从动手实验到深思熟虑的工程设计,本次科学展既突显了探究精神,也彰显了所学技能!
This year’s STEAM Fair showcased an impressive range of projects across all year levels, with students combining creativity, scientific thinking, and practical problem-solving. From hands-on experiments to thoughtful engineering designs, the event highlighted both inquiry and skill!




MYP 5学子在科学展上拿出了出色的作品,多个优秀实验获得了6分。Maxi和Bosco试验了一种运用特制“白垩粉”灭火的方法,试图提高灭火效率。你听过常用于刑侦现场勘察血迹的“鲁米诺反应”吗?Alicia和Wendy探究了温度对这种化合物发光亮度和持续时间的影响,她们的展板精美、研究过程也很清晰,因而脱颖而出。Brianna与Flora选择了棘手的医学课题:研究替莫唑胺对神经胶质瘤生长的抑制作用;Missy的蛀牙实验既详尽又令人印象深刻,尤其她还带来了动物牙齿的实物!
MYP 5 students delivered some of the most advanced work in the fair, with several strong projects earning a 6. Maxi and Bosco explored “Fire Extinguishing Using Chalk,” testing different methods to put out flames. Alicia and Wendy’s “The Effect of Temperature on Mixture Glow Brightness and Duration” stood out for its visual impact and clear investigation. Brianna and Flora tackled a complex topic with “The Inhibitory Effect of Temozolomide on Glioma Growth,” while Missy’s “The Effects of Acid and Sugar on Tooth Erosion” was both detailed and memorable, especially with the animal teeth she brought!


有两个实验获得了7分。Jenny凭借“温度对橙汁中维C的影响”这一实验给人留下了深刻印象,展现了严谨的实验过程和清晰的实验结果。Stacy延续了她对食品科学的兴趣,通过探索不同种类的糖对马卡龙品质的影响,将烘焙与扎实的调查研究相结合。
Two projects achieved a 7. Jenny impressed with “The Effect of Temperature on Vitamin C in Orange Juice,” demonstrating careful experimentation and clear results. Stacy continued her interest in food science with “How Different Sugar Types Affect Macarons,” combining baking with strong investigative work.


MYP 4年级作品中有三个实验获得了7分。Afanda与Peter关注现实生活中的实际问题,试图找出给物品杀菌消毒的最佳方式。Happy与Dorothy寻觅去污效果最佳的清洁剂,得出了清晰且有用的结论。Yuhom运用AI检测威胁的项目颇具创新与技术雄心,引人瞩目。
Although there were no 6s in MYP 4, three projects reached a 7. Afanda and Peter’s “The Best Ways to Sanitize Objects” focused on practical, real-world applications. Happy and Dorothy explored “Which Cleaner is Best at Removing Stains,” producing clear and useful results. Yuhom’s “AI Agent for Threat Detection” stood out for its innovation and technical ambition.


MYP 3年级所有入选实验均获得6分,说明学子都付出了不懈努力。Will, Jason Chen, Jun和Steven开发了一款扩香装置。Joslin与Yeukki在“蛋壳如何影响植物生长”实验中,利用鸡鸭蛋壳碎片促进了上海青的生长。Bin, Viya与Wendy则通过燕麦与面包屑喂养探索黏菌长速,结果燕麦喂养成了明显的赢家!
MYP 3 had no projects scoring a 7, but all placed projects received a 6, showing consistent effort across the group. Will, Jason Chen, Jun, and Steven developed an engineering fragrance build with their “Aromatherapy Diffuser.” Joslin and Yeukki investigated plant growth in “How Eggshells Affect Plant Growth”, using duck and chicken eggshells! Bin, Viya, and Wendy explored “The Growth Rate of Slime Molds: Oatmeal vs. Bread Crumbs”, with oatmeal coming out the clear winner!


Tristan, Jason Li与Vivian研究了“非牛顿流体”,研究哪种混合比例能最好地保护鸡蛋在坠落时不受损;Lily与Tayla则测试了pH值对牙齿的影响,并辅以生动的展板演示。
Tristan, Jason Li, and Vivian worked on “Non-Newtonian Fluids,” investigating which mixture ratio best protected eggs from damage when dropped, while Lily and Tayla examined “The Effect of Liquid pH on Teeth,” supported by a strong visual backboard presentation.

Sabrina的实验清晰而专注,探讨了绿豆在不同光照条件下的生长速度——结果令人惊讶!总体而言,MYP 3学子表现出了高度的参与热情,并乐于探索广泛的科学概念。
Sabrina’s “Mung Bean Germination under Different Light Conditions” rounded out the group with a clear and focused investigation dealing with how fast Mung beans grow under different light conditions- with a surprising answer! Overall, MYP 3 showed strong engagement and a willingness to explore a wide range of scientific ideas.

MYP 2学子展示了丰富多样的实验,所有项目巧妙地融合了工程设计与科学探究,均获得6分。Romeo的辅助机器人侧重于为生活提供便利、解决日常问题——如果你在另一个房间时需要从厨房拿一杯冷饮,也许这款机器人正适合你!Timothy在“有机肥料对生菜幼苗的影响”实验中探索了植物生长规律。Kassie研究如何保持切片水果的新鲜度,Sarah Li则展示了如何保持切花的新鲜度——她的展板是在视觉上最吸引人的作品之一!
MYP 2 students presented a diverse set of projects, all scoring a 6, with a strong mix of engineering and scientific investigation. Romeo’s “Aid Bot” focused on convenience and everyday problem-solving- if you ever need a cold drink from the kitchen while you are in another room - maybe an “Aid Bot” is for you! Timothy explored plant growth in “The Effects of Organic Fertilizers on Lettuce Seedlings.” Kassie investigated “How to Keep Cut Fruit Fresh,” while Sarah presented “How to Keep Cut Flowers Fresh.”- with a backboard that was one of the most visually appealing in the entire competition!


Carina, Eva与Fiona深入研究了不同材料的隔热效果,Sarah K与Helen探索了温度、光照和pH值对豆类发芽的影响。Tony W, George与Seven制作了一把“等离子炮”,而Andy与Lucas带来的“气动机械臂”令人印象深刻——这个作品部分以乐高积木构成!最后,Angela与Jhensly提出了一个有趣的问题:草莓能自己变甜吗?
Carina, Eva, and Fiona delved into “The Insulation Effect of Different Materials,” while Sarah K and Helen explored “The Effects of Temperature, Light, and pH on Bean Germination.” Tony W, George, and Seven produced “Plasma Movement in a Closed Space,” and Andy and Lucas impressed with their “Pneumatic Robot Arm,”-made partly with LEGO pieces! Finally, Angela and Jhensly investigated “Can Strawberries Become Sweeter by Themselves?”.


MYP 1学子展现出了强烈的好奇心和创造力,所有项目均获得了6分。Gordon, Jan与Teruaki开发了一项实用设计:移动式房屋。Mindy和Noah探索了声音类型对狗狗训练效果的影响。最后,Sophia研究了“去除污渍的最佳方法”,展现出对日常科学强烈的兴趣。
MYP 1 students demonstrated strong curiosity and creativity, with all listed projects scoring a 6. Gordon, Jan, and Teruaki developed a practical design in “Portable House.” Mindy and Noah explored “Does Voice Type Affect Dog Training Results?” Finally, Sophia investigated “The Best Way to Remove Stains,” showing strong engagement with everyday science.


两个获得名次五年级项目均得6分。Chelsea, Zoe与Ola制作了一个“DIY指南针”。 Alex, Jackie与Joseph完成了一个精彩的工程项目:如何制作便携掌上游戏机?他们真的做出来了!
Both Grade 5 projects that placed received a 6. Chelsea, Zoe, and Ola created a “DIY Compass.” Alex, Jackie, and Joseph did a fantastic engineering project, “How to Build a Game Boy Advance,” and actually built one!

两个获奖的四年级项目也都得到了6分,展现出扎实的努力和清晰的科学思维。Jeremy与Enzo Lin研究了“哪种液体能让鸡蛋漂浮”,探索了不同液体如何影响浮力。Tim, Rory, Sarah, Enzo, Felix与Aiden则研究了“哪种‘超级木材’最坚固”,这是一个内容详尽、信息量极大的项目!
Both Grade 4 projects that placed received a 6, showing solid effort and clear scientific thinking. Jeremy and Enzo Lin investigated “Which Liquid Can Make an Egg Float,” exploring how different liquids affect buoyancy. Tim, Rory, Sarah, Enzo, Felix, and Aiden explored “Which ‘Super Wood’ is the Strongest., a very detailed project with lots of information!


所有获奖的三年级项目均获得6分。三年级学子为今年的科学展带来许多乐趣与活力。他们的作品色彩鲜艳、变化有趣,让人不禁驻足细看。参展作品包括Oli and Yaya的“水粘液”、 Linxi的“漂浮鸡蛋”,以及Joy, Wendy和Annabelle的“吸水彩花”。 Bella, Sanah与Kiki展示了“行走的彩虹”,每位学子都通过实验作品展现了极大的热情。
All Grade 3 projects that placed received a 6. Grade 3 students brought a lot of fun and vibrancy to this year’s STEAM Fair. Their projects were full of bright colors, interesting changes, and projects that made people stop and take a closer look. Projects included Oli and Yaya’s “Water Slime,” Linxi’s “Floating Eggs,” and Joy, Wendy, and Annabelle’s “Colourful Flowers Absorbing Water.” Bella, Sanah, and Kiki presented “Walking Rainbow,” each showing lots of enthusiasm in their work.


所有获奖的二年级项目均获得6分。二年级学子的作品不仅有趣,还生机盎然。Oriole, Jolie, Jailyne与Brian研究了向日葵生长所需的光照条件。Piet, Oisin, Henry与Aaron则提出了一个问题:如何让仙人掌开花?看来二年级小朋友是真的很喜欢植物学!
All Grade 2 projects that placed received a 6. Grade 2 students added a fun and energetic element to the fair. Oriole, Jolie, Jailyne, and Brian investigated, “Sunflower: Can It Grow in Light or Dark”. Piet, Oisin, Henry, and Aaron asked, “How do flowers come from?” It seems Grade 2 really likes botany!


值得一提的是,本次科学展,FLIS还邀请了宇树科技参展助力。这家以研发、生产民用机器人而闻名的科技公司近年在春晚舞台上大放异彩,为民众所熟知。
The FLIS STEAM Fair would like to extend a special thanks to Unitree Robotics—a company specializing in quadruped robots for the consumer market, which has gained widespread recognition in recent years, including a spectacular appearance on the Chinese Spring Festival Gala stage.


科学展当天,宇树科技携两款机器人亮相,与学子亲切互动,并在下午的FLIS TALK上为大家详细讲解了四足机器狗GO2与人形机器人G1两款产品,令FLIS师生了解了该领域最新前沿科技。
On the day of the STEAM Fair, Unitree Robotics showcased two robots, engaging in energetic and crowd-pleasing interactions with students. During the afternoon FLIS TALK session, the company also provided detailed explanations of its products—the robot dog GO2 and the humanoid robot G1—offering FLIS faculty and students valuable insight into the latest cutting-edge technologies in this field.

总体而言,2026年FLIS科学展取得了巨大成功。此次活动充分展示了MYP和PYP学生的批判性思维与创造性思维,同时也让他们在解说与受访环节中得以展示并提升其沟通能力(ATL技能之一)。我们期待明年的展览,以及学生们将带来的所有精彩创意和项目!
Overall, FLIS STEAM Fair 2026 was a resounding success. It showcased the critical and creative thinking abilities of MYP and PYP students. It also let them demonstrate and develop their ATL skill of communication during the interviews. We look forward to next year and all the wonderful ideas and projects the students will bring forth!
