CAASELCollaborative(统合),Academic(学术)、Arts(艺术),与Social Emotional Learning(情商学习)的缩写

该实践基地为福州西湖国际学校的“第二课堂”,即CAASEL情商中心。基地保留自然户外环境,临水(闽江)而建。

CAASEL中心课程分为艺术熏陶(绘画 / 陶艺 / 雕塑 / 扎染 / 插画 / 书法 / 舞台戏剧 / 表演)、情商课程(情绪管理 / 团结协作 / 社群能力)、亲近自然&生活技能(农耕 / 动物喂养 / 烘焙 / 烹饪 / 饮食文化 / 餐桌礼仪)三大类。

该课程设置结合了哈佛大学儿童发展中心的研究成果以及美国芝加哥大学的艺术情商课纲,打破传统的课堂环境,给学生们提供了一个多元化的活动场所,真正实践哥伦比亚大学杜威博士的“探究式学习”教育理念。孩子们将在自然环境中汲取“心灵成长”的养分;从与他人互动的过程中不断思考自省;教师们也将在心理辅导师的指导下,把全人教育的概念紧密融合在每一个课程环节里,使学生们成为自己人生中主动的学习者和探索者,达到品德、学业乃至人生的更高成就。

CAASEL, the Collaborative, Academic & Arts, Social, Emotional Learning, Center is the ‘Second Campus’ of Fuzhou Lakeside International School. It’s located in the Minhou District along the Min River, about a 30 minute drive from FLIS.

 The curriculum of the CAASEL Center consists of Arts, Social Emotional Learning, Life Skills and experience with nature. In terms of curriculum design, CAASEL Center combines the curriculum guidelines of Columbia University with the research from the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University. CAASEL Center plays a role in strengthening students’ development in three main areas, Self-cultivation, Social skills and Life skills. 

Primary students will go to the CAASEL Center every other week and spend the whole day studying art and practicing life skills there this school year. We hope that the students will become active learners who are capable of achieving more.
