the World Scholar's Cup

一月中旬，福州西湖国际学校（FLIS）小学部3组共9名学子参加了世界学者杯（the World Scholar's Cup，简称WSC）福州场区域轮比赛。这项面向全球中小学生的大型国际英文学术竞技活动，为耶鲁大学官方支持的学生活动，每年吸引来自70多个国家超过6万名学生参加，学术内容涉及历史、社会学、科学、艺术、文学、通识六大学科。

In mid-January, nine primary students from Fuzhou Lakeside International School (FLIS) participated in the Fuzhou regional round of the World Scholar's Cup (WSC). This annual international academic program for primary and secondary school students worldwide is an officially supported student activity of Yale University. Annually attracting over 60,000 participants from more than 70 countries, its academic content spans six major disciplines: History, Science & Technology, Social Studies, Art & Music, Literature & Media, and Special Area.

2025年赛事学术主题为「重燃未来」（Reigniting the Future）。FLIS小学部学子在团队答辩、协同创作、知识挑战、团队竞答四大环节表现出色，通过层层考验后，他们以1奖杯12金20银以及2组晋级全球论的傲人成绩凯旋而归！

The 2025 competition's academic theme was “Reigniting the Future.” FLIS primary students excelled in four key segments: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar's Challenge and Scholar's Bowl. After navigating rigorous tests, they returned triumphant with an impressive haul: 1 trophy, 12 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and two teams qualified to the global rounds!

■ 世界青少年创新发明展

the International Exhibition for Young Inventors

世界青少年创新发明展（IEYI）创办于2004年，旨在以发明与创造为纽带，在为广大青少年提供国际交往平台的同时，培养学子的设计思维、科学思维，提升他们对于科学核心概念的理解，并通过锻炼问题解决能力、批判性思维、沟通表达等21世纪核心技能，培养具有国际视野、科学溯源、健全人格的新世纪人才。

The International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) is an international event that was established with the aim to “promote international exchange and encourage creativity among young people”. The first event was held in Tokyo in 2004, and it has since been hosted annually by different countries/regions.

2025 - 2026 IEYI世界青少年创新发明展福建展区活动于去年底亮相FLIS，现场聚焦“灾害管理与安全健康”“社会关怀”“便利生活”等六大主题，涌现出“AI中药科普系统”“智能管道漏水预警”“非遗伬艺传承装置”等优质作品。

The 2025–2026 IEYI Fujian Pavilion debuted at FLIS late last year. The event highlighted six key themes including “Disaster Management & Safety,” “Social Care,” and “Convenient,” showcasing outstanding entries such as the “AI Traditional Chinese Medicine Science Popularization System,” “Smart Pipeline Leakage Early Warning System,” and “Intangible Cultural Heritage Chiyi Preservation Device.”

此次展区排名前50%的项目分获“卓越奖”“优秀奖”，已成功晋级2026年2月北京中国展，后续有望进军8月俄罗斯国际舞台，与全球青少年同台竞技。FLIS学子则收获赛事9张奖状、9枚奖牌，其中3位学子晋级中国展，祝贺他们！

The top 50% of projects in this exhibition zone received either the “Excellence Award” or the “Outstanding Award,” successfully advancing to the China Exhibition in Beijing in February 2026. They are poised to compete on the global stage at the Russia International Exhibition in August, showcasing their talents alongside youth from around the world. FLIS students earned 9 certificates and 9 medals in the event, with 3 students qualifying for the China Exhibition. Congratulations!

■ 阿思丹商业模拟挑战

the ASIA Business Simulation

近日，阿思丹模拟商战区域赛圆满落幕，福州西湖国际学校中学部学子凭借出色的商业思维、团队协作能力和创新精神，在激烈的竞争中脱颖而出，Senior组与 Junior组均斩获多项荣誉。

Recently, the ASIA Business Simulation Regional Round concluded successfully. FLIS MYP Students distinguished themselves through outstanding business acumen, teamwork, and innovative spirit, securing multiple honors in both the Senior and Junior groups amid fierce competition.

其中MYP1学子作为FLIS最年轻的Junior组队伍，首次亮相便表现亮眼，以综合排名前70%的优异成绩荣获青年企业家证书，晋级全国半决战。由6名MYP3学子组成的18号队伍也一举斩获包括银奖、最佳海报设计奖、拍卖交易环节第一名在内的6大重要奖项，成功晋级总决战。

Among them, the MYP1 students, as FLIS's youngest Junior team, made a remarkable debut. They secured the ASDAN Enterprise Award with an outstanding overall ranking in the top 70% and advanced to the Semi League. Team 18, comprised of six MYP3 students, swept six major awards including the Silver Award, Best Prototype Award, and Top Trading Teams, successfully advancing to the finals.

Senior组学子则凭借丰富的参赛经验和成熟的商业策略，在赛场上稳扎稳打，两支队伍均斩获铜奖，顺利晋级总决战，展现了高年级学生的领导力与执行力。

Senior students, leveraging their extensive competition experience and well-developed business strategies, demonstrated steady and methodical performance on the competition stage. Both teams secured Bronze Awards and advanced to the finals, showcasing the leadership and execution capabilities of upperclassmen.

■ 联合国「地球生灵之美」青少年艺术展

the UN SDGs“THE BEAUTY OF THE EARTH” Youth Art Exhibition

联合国「地球生灵之美」青少年艺术展由联合国可持续发展目标与领导力发展中心主办，号召全球青少年以画笔为纽带，共同谱写“地球生灵之美”可持续发展目标艺术篇章。该展特邀国际艺术家组成评审团，优秀佳作将受邀于联合国四大官方场馆（奥地利维也纳、美国纽约、瑞士日内瓦、肯尼亚内罗毕）巡展。

The United Nations(UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)“THE BEAUTY OF THE EARTH” Youth Art Exhibition, hosted by the UN Global Sustainable Development Goals and Leadership Development Center, aims to deepen global youth’s understanding of and commitment to action on the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development through the power of art. The exhibition features a jury of internationally renowned artists, and outstanding works will be invited to tour the four official UN venues (Vienna, Austria; New York, USA; Geneva, Switzerland; and Nairobi, Kenya).

本次活动四大创作主题（万物共生·绿意盎然/自然之美·大地生灵/蔚蓝星球·守护生态/地球印记·持续未来）亦分别对应陆地生物、气候行动、水下生物、可持续城市四大可持续发展目标，旨在通过艺术形式推动青少年对全球可持续发展目标的理解与实践。

The four creative themes of this event correspond respectively to the four major Sustainable Development Goals: Life on Land, Climate Action, Life below Water, and Sustainable Cities and Communities.

FLIS学子携精心创作的画作报名参展。他们的作品带有强烈的主题意识与细腻的情感表达，用或温柔或直观或天马行空的画笔传达了“保护动物”“关注海洋污染”等诉求，画面不失视觉张力与感染力。在报名参展的21位FLIS学子中，16位入围初赛，10位入围联合国SDGS地球生灵之美青少年艺术奖，3名入围北京国家会议中心国内艺术展大赛。恭喜！

FLIS students submitted their meticulously crafted artwork for exhibition. Their pieces demonstrate strong thematic awareness and nuanced emotional expression, conveying messages such as “protect animals” and “address ocean pollution” through brushstrokes that are tender, direct, or wildly imaginative. Among the 21 FLIS students who registered for the exhibition, 16 advanced to the preliminary round, 10 were shortlisted for the UN SDGs“THE BEAUTY OF THE EARTH” Youth Art Award, and 3 qualified for the domestic art exhibition competition at the China National Convention Center. Congratulations!

■ 福建国际学校体育文化协会U12篮球锦标赛

FISSCA U12 Basketball Tournament

FLIS首支U12篮球队于2025年9月组建。仅仅三个月后，这支球队便参加了福建国际学校体育文化协会（FISSCA）U12篮球锦标赛，并在这项赛事上力克三所国际学校强手，以全胜战绩摘得桂冠。祝贺我们的篮球小将们，也期待大家在新学年的比赛中大放异彩！

FLIS's inaugural U12 basketball team was formed in September 2025. Just three months later, the squad competed in the Fujian International School Sports & Cultural Association (FISSCA) U12 Basketball Tournament, where they defeated three elite international school opponents in a row to claim the championship title with an undefeated record. Congratulations to our young basketball stars, and we look forward to seeing them shine in the upcoming season!
