▶ 让运动成为孩子的“快乐开关”

运动不止是跑跳，更是孩子探索世界的另一种语言——近来，福州西湖国际学校幼儿园策划了“小小运动家·全能体验日”活动：让孩子用身体解读拳击的节奏、体操的美感与滑雪的风速……种下一颗“爱动”的种子！

Sports are more than just running and jumping—they're another language through which children explore the world. Recently, ECE department of Fuzhou Lakeside International School organized the “Little Athletes: All-Around Experience Day” event, allowing children to interpret the rhythm of boxing, the beauty of gymnastics, and the speed of skiing through their bodies... planting a seed of love for movement!

这些项目里没有“必须做到”，只有“我想试试”。FLIS希望为孩子提供更多机会，用身体记住“动起来真开心”“我的身体真有趣”等等感觉，并为将来增加勇气的砝码——或许，日后面对挑战，他们会记得“我连滑雪都敢尝试，这点困难算什么？”

None of these activities carry a “must-do” label—only “I want to give it a try.” FLIS aims to provide children with more opportunities to physically experience sensations like “moving feels so joyful” and “my body is truly fascinating,” building up their courage reserves for the future. Perhaps when facing challenges later on, they'll recall, “If I dared try skiing, what's this little difficulty?”

▶ 让户外成为学子的参考调色盘！

本周，一年级学子亦走出校园，漫步西湖公园，辨识冬日植物、拾取这个季节的色彩。

This week, first-grade students also ventured beyond campus, strolling through West Lake Park to identify winter plants and gather the season's colors.

福州地处温暖湿润的南方，许多树种无需通过落叶减少水分蒸发、养分损耗，也能安然越冬。因此即使已近深冬，街头巷尾依然绿意盎然，但学子还是找到了银杏、栾树等树种的落叶，也发现即使在这个季节，依然有诸如红花羊蹄甲、山茶等开花植物，为园景增添了不一样的色彩。每个孩子都带着满当当一袋收获离开，期待大家发挥创意，将自然的馈赠转化为独具特色的美术作品！

Fuzhou lies in the warm and humid south, where many trees can safely endure winter without shedding their leaves to reduce water evaporation and nutrient loss. Thus, even as late winter approaches, streets and alleys remain lush with greenery. Yet students still found fallen leaves from trees like Ginkgo and Goldenrain, and discovered flowering plants such as Purple Camel's Foot and Camellia blooming in this season, adding distinctive splashes of color to the landscape. Each child departed with a bag brimming with their harvest, eager to unleash their creativity and transform nature's gifts into uniquely artworks!

▶ 2025圣诞慈善集市顺利结算！

去年末，以“毛绒绒的圣诞季”为主题，FLIS师生开展了一系列与救助流浪小动物相关的活动，也举办了有趣又好玩的慈善集市义卖筹措资金，中学生亲力亲为运营摊位卖力吆喝、家长、教师助力售卖，让集市生态更加丰富。

At the end of last year, under the theme “Fluffy Christmas,” FLIS students and teachers launched a series of activities focused on helping stray animals. They also organized a fun and engaging Charity Bazaar to raise funds. MYP students personally ran stalls and enthusiastically hawked toys raised through donations, while parents and teachers lent a hand with sales, enriching the bazaar's vibrant atmosphere.

如今，集市盈利善款已全部转交相关机构。FLIS很荣幸地宣布，2025圣诞慈善集市共盈利15200元，其中5000元捐赠给FLIS多年慈善合作伙伴【福州小家】，1.5立方米的旧衣物、100个二手玩偶与价值10200元的粮食（包括18公斤狗粮36包，10公斤猫粮20包）捐赠给此次圣诞季慈善活动合作伙伴【素馨小动物保护中心】。

All proceeds from the market have now been donated to the relevant organizations. FLIS is proud to announce that the 2025 Christmas Charity Bazaar generated a total profit of 15,200 yuan. Of this amount, 5,000 yuan was donated to FLIS's long-standing charitable partner, Fuzhou Hope Home, 1.5 cubic meters of used clothing, 100 secondhand stuffed toys, and 10,200 yuan worth of food supplies (including 36 bags of dog food totaling 18kg and 20 bags of cat food totaling 10kg) were donated to our Christmas season charity event partner, Suxin Animal Protection Center.

希望中心的小动物们都能过个温暖的冬天！圣诞季虽远去，慈善精神不灭，愿大家都能从此次活动中获取宝贵的经验，继续为周遭世界带来积极影响。

May all the little animals at the center have a warm winter! Though the holiday season has passed, the spirit of charity lives on. FLIS hopes everyone gains valuable experience from this event and continues to make a positive impact on the world around them.
