福州西湖国际学校于10月31日庆祝了万圣节！今年，FLIS选取「神话」为本年度万圣节活动主题。神话几乎存在于所有民族文化之中，反映了不同地域上古先民对周身世界的探索与诠释：世界如何诞生？太阳和月亮为何会移动？闪电、雷雨是怎么一回事？离开人世的人都去了哪里？在科学认知水平不高的古代，人类便通过讲述神话故事推理、想象生活中的种种问题。因此，这是一个不论来自哪个国家、熟悉或喜爱任何文化的学子都可以找到共鸣、深入探索的主题。

Fuzhou Lakeside International School celebrated Halloween on October 31st! This year, FLIS chose “Mythology” as the theme for its Halloween activities. Myths are part of every culture, reflecting ancient peoples' exploration and interpretation of the world around them: How did the world come to be? Why do the sun and moon move? What causes lightning and thunderstorms? Where do people go after they pass away? In ancient times, humans created myths to answer the mysteries that logic or observation alone couldn’t yet explain. This makes mythology a universally relatable theme for students from any country, familiar with or passionate about any culture, inviting them to delve deeply into its rich tapestry.

万圣节起源说法不一，有一种考据认为，万圣夜习俗源于凯尔特人庆祝丰收、召唤亡灵的庆典节日，可见它由来本就与神话、民俗传统密不可分。不少神话故事都涉及人物的变形：化为某种植物、变成动物、成为天边的星星……万圣节又何尝不是一个让大家“改头换面”、天马行空发挥想象的变形时刻？不论你是来自希腊神话的女神、中国神话的哪吒，还是凯尔特神话的小妖精，FLIS万圣节时装秀的舞台都有你的一席之地！

The origins of Halloween are subject to various interpretations. One scholarly theory suggests that Halloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which celebrates the harvest and summons the spirits of the dead, revealing its deep roots in mythology and folk traditions. Many myths feature characters undergoing metamorphosis—transforming into plants, animals, or stars in the sky. Halloween itself is a time for transformation, encouraging everyone to “change their appearance” and unleash boundless imagination. Whether you embody a Greek goddess, China's mythical Nezha, or a Celtic fairy, the FLIS Halloween Fashion Show stage has a place for you!

2025时装秀增设主题设计赛环节。两对参赛选手分别以希腊神话中的海妖塞壬、以及日本传说中的狐仙与狸猫（实为日本貉）为主题设计服装，为万圣节舞台增添了别样色彩。

The 2025 Fashion Show introduced a Themed Design Competition. Two pairs of contestants designed costumes inspired by the Sirens (Greek mythology) and the Kitsune and Tanuki (Japanese folklore), adding a unique touch to the Halloween stage.

下午，缤纷多样的万圣节游戏拉开序幕：学子可以前往图书馆参与知识竞赛赢得金币，或在户外参加竞争激烈的团体游戏，每个班级还准备了创意满满的节日游戏静待游客大驾光临。深受FLIS学子喜爱的鬼屋闯关与枕头大战当然也必不可少！

In the afternoon, a vibrant array of Halloween games kicked off: students could head to the library for a Myth Quiz to win gold coins, or participate in competitive Outdoor Group Games. Each class also prepared creative holiday games, eagerly awaiting visitors. The haunted house challenge and Pillow Fight—beloved by FLIS students—were of course essential!
