World Scholar’s Cup

5月17日，在厦门举办的2025年世界学者杯（WSC）区域赛中，11名热情洋溢的FLIS PYP学子勇敢站上了舞台。带着活跃的思维和吉祥物羊驼，学子们开启了一段充满团队合作、创造力、冒险精神和全球化思维的学术冒险之旅。

On May 17th, eleven enthusiastic Fuzhou Lakeside International School PYP students stepped boldly into the spotlight at the 2025 regional round of the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC). With minds buzzing and alpacas in tow, our students took on an exciting academic adventure filled with teamwork, creativity, risk-taking, and global-minded thinking.

今年的主题“重燃未来”鼓励小学者们畅想世界的发展方向，以及未来应如何演化。从发人深省的未来议题辩论，到围绕三个前沿主题创作的文字（及插图）作品，我们的年轻学者们深入探讨了宏大理念，分享他们对这个世界的见解。

This year’s theme, “Reigniting the Future,” challenged scholars to imagine how the world is evolving, and how it should evolve. From thought-provoking debates about the future, to developing written (and illustrated) pieces on three forward-thinking topics, our young scholars explored big ideas and shared their perspectives on our world.

世界学者杯（WSC）由四个项目组成：团队辩论、协同创作、学者知识挑战以及引人入胜的“学者杯”团队竞答。学子三人一组参赛，各自发挥独特优势，共同应对复杂问题和创意任务。无论是辩论中捍卫艰难立场，还是在压力下解决棘手脑筋急转弯，我们的学生都以饱满的热情迎难而上。

The WSC is made up of four events: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and the intriguing quiz-style Scholar’s Bowl. Students competed in teams of three, each contributing their unique strengths to tackle complex questions and creative tasks. Whether defending a tough position in a debate or solving tricky brain teasers under pressure, our students rose to the occasion with enthusiasm.

最终，学生们带着奖牌、奖项和难忘的回忆离开，还带走了WSC的标志性纪念品：一只可爱的羊驼毛绒玩具，提醒他们棘手挑战可能带来的甜美果实。

At the end of it all, the students walked away with medals, awards, and unforgettable memories, plus the signature WSC souvenir: a cuddly alpaca plushie to remind them that awkward experiences can lead to great things.

MYP音乐艺术疗愈项目 

MYP Music and Art Healing Project

期末将至，又一批福州西湖国际学校MYP学子走进医院，开展音乐艺术疗愈项目。这一次，他们将本学期语文、音乐、美术课堂所学巧妙转化为实践，从活动策划、节目编排到现场执行，全程主导。

As the end of the semester approaches, another group of MYP students from Fuzhou Lakeside International School visited a hospital to carry out a music and art healing project. This time, they skillfully transformed what they had learned in their Mandarin, music, and art classes this semester into practice, taking the lead in everything from activity planning and program arrangement to on-site execution.

面对紧张与突发状况，在老师和专业志愿者的陪伴下，学子们从容应对。活动结束后，大家认真复盘，在践行IB课程公益理念的同时，也用温暖的音乐与创意，为病人带去慰藉，更为自己的成长留下了珍贵印记，让医疗关怀多了一份灵动的温度。

In the face of tension and unexpected situations, the students remained calm and performed with the support of teachers and professional volunteers. After the event, everyone conducted a thorough review, putting into practice the philanthropic ideals of the IB curriculum while also bringing comfort to patients through warm music and creative ideas. This experience left a precious mark on their personal growth, adding a touch of warmth and humanity to medical care.

Exhibition Games

5月20日下午，福州赛德文学校足球队到访福州西湖国际学校，两校球员在FLIS绿茵场上展开了一场精彩纷呈的足球友谊赛。这场充满激情与友谊的比赛，不仅锻炼了队员们的实战能力，更为两校搭建了良好的交流平台。

On the afternoon of May 20, the Fuzhou Sedbergh School football team visited Fuzhou Lakeside International School, where players from both schools competed in an exciting exhibition football match on the playground. This passionate and friendly match not only honed the players' practical skills, but also provided an excellent platform for communication between the two schools.

无独有偶，六月初，FLIS校篮球队赴厦门与两所国际学校展开篮球友谊赛，以球会友。这些体育赛事促进了几所国际学校之间的体育文化交流，丰富了学子的课余生活，未来，我们也期待学子通过更多平台展现自我，与外界进行更多切磋！

In early June, the FLIS basketball team traveled to Xiamen to participate in an exhibition basketball match with two Xiamen international schools, with the goal of fostering friendship through sports. These sporting events have promoted sports and cultural exchanges among several international schools, enriching students' extracurricular activities. In the future, FLIS also looks forward to students showcasing their talents through more platforms and engaging in further exchanges with the outside world!
