我们很荣幸地宣布，一群优秀的学生从FLIS八年级毕业啦！恭喜他们！

We are pleased to announce that a group of outstanding students have been graduated from FLIS Grade 8. Congratulations!

福州西湖国际学校为毕业生们举办了一场盛大的毕业典礼。学生们盛装出席，笑容满面，父母亲友也在现场为他们送上祝福。走过专为此次典礼铺设的红毯，学生们纷纷落座。福州西湖国际学校学部校长Ashim女士首先致辞，在这一里程碑式的时刻对全体毕业生送上了祝福。之后Elijah Han同学表演了钢琴独奏，并同Peter Chen同学一道，由中学部主任Harrington老师手中接过了优秀毕业生表彰状。

FLIS held a splendid ceremony to mark this special occasion of celebration for the graduates. Students were dressed in their graduation caps and gowns and readily gave big smiles to their well-wishing audience of parents, friends, and teachers. They marched down the red carpeted aisle, and then took their seats. The Academic Principal, Ms Ashim, welcomed everyone to the special occasion that marks a milestone in the students' lives. Mr Harrington, Director of Secondary Department, awarded Peter Chen and Elijah Han with Most Outstanding Student awards for their exemplary behavior and academic achievement after which Elijah Han performed a remarkable piano solo.

作为八年级生备受敬爱的班主任，Wright老师为孩子们做出了真挚的演讲，其中他也给出了几条人生建议：

Mr Wright, the beloved 8th grade homeroom teacher, addressed the class with good advice: 

“永远不要停止好奇。在你的心中深植对世界的好奇与着迷。我们生活的世界充满了惊喜与困惑，唯有不断自省、自查，勇于探索，方能在求知的道路上越走越远。永远对错误保持开放的态度，坦然接受，并努力改之。生而为人，你我并不能完全掌控自己的一生；唯一能被自己掌握、决定的，就是你如何分配自己的时间。希望大家无畏艰难，去做一些事，任何事，卓越者需下苦功。付出的努力和牺牲越大，获得的回报也会越多。人生在世，有所成者大多需要花费许多精力与时间，成千上万次的练习与实践方能令人达成目标。这诚非易事，否则任何人均可成就伟业。选择那条更艰深的道路，而非更轻松的捷径；若你愿意下苦功，未来方能实现非凡、难以置信的成就。”

"Never stop being curious. Nurture in your hearts and minds a deep fascination in this world. This life we find ourselves living is amazing and confusing. Examine and question and dig as deep as you can to learn all you can, just for the sake of knowing. Always be open to being wrong, and when you are, accept it and do your best to correct it. You actually don’t control much in this life; the only thing you are given to control is how you spend your time. Never be afraid of hard work. To do something, anything, great requires it. But with great sacrifice comes great rewards. Anyone who ever did anything in this life had to put in the time, had to practice and practice, get 100’s, 1000’s of repetitions in to achieve their goals. And it won’t be easy. If it were easy everyone would do it. Go after what is hard. Don’t take the easy road. If you make peace with hard work, amazing, unbelievable things await you."

Immanuel Lee同学作为学生代表致辞，Kirby Wang同学在一旁进行翻译。在欣赏了由Nene与Kaiden带来的二重唱"The Prayer"后，学生们观看了先前一同拍摄的毕业纪念视频，现场时不时传来阵阵欢声笑语。

Immanuel Lee represented the class with a reflective speech as Kirby Wang translated for him. "The Prayer," a duet sung by Nene and Kaiden contributed to the meaningfulness of the ceremony, and the 8th grade Graduation Momento Video was viewed with laughter and enjoyment. 

终于到了颁发毕业证书的时间！毕业生们由学部校长Ashim女士及中学部主任Richard先生手中接过证书，并与老师们亲切合照。

The ceremony culminated in the handing out of diplomas presented by Miss Ashim and Mr Richard. A photo session followed.

正如Wright老师所述：“你们都很有能力，有着强健的体魄和充满斗志的灵魂。请始终相信自己，切勿妄自菲薄。”

To quote Mr Wright, "Each and everyone of you are capable, strong and beautiful people. Never forget that. Never stop believing in yourselves. Never quit on yourselves." 

福州西湖国际学校祝愿八年级毕业生们都能有光明的未来！
