The Spring Festival is coming. It is the most sacred traditional festival in China. During the Spring Festival, there are various celebrations throughout the country: replacing the old with the new, rituals for protection from evil forces and disasters, ancestor worship and prayer for blessing from various deities, prayer for the new year, family reunions, etc. All these diverse forms of celebration together illustrate the rich, colorful essence of traditional Chinese culture.
Fuzhou Lakeside International School also celebrated with a variety of activities! At the Chinese New Year party of Nursery B, kids wore new clothes and shared food together.
The FLIS Chinese New Year Calligraphy, Painting, and Photography Contest is now in its fourth year! The contest is titled "Westlake Scenery and Fuzhou Beauty" this year and is open to our students for photography, calligraphy, and paintings. The Mandarin Department has already received many excellent entries, so don't forget to submit your entries if you are interested in the contest! We look forward to seeing your beautiful works of art!
On February 5, the long-awaited lucky draw finally started! All teachers, students, and staff came to the red envelope wall to try their luck. We prepared different gifts for students, teachers, and staff of different age groups: Barbie dolls, Peppa Pig dolls, snack packs, Lego toys, rechargeable batteries, balance bikes, and more. Did you draw your favorite prize? FLIS would like to wish you all the best for the Year of the Ox! May everyone be safe and healthy! See you all after the Chinese New Year!
