School News丨WELCOME BACK!
The first week of school has kicked off so quietly! We wonder how everyone is feeling about it? Everything was a little different this year: the children had their shortest summer vacation ever; we held an opening ceremony online; on the first day of school there was a huge club recruitment event; and unlike previous years, Nursery freshmen entered the school a week early for orientation, so they were the first visitors on campus...
On August 30, Fuzhou Lakeside International School held the opening ceremony online. Ms. Jeanne, the foreign principal, and each principal of academic departments gave speeches. She introduced the curriculum of each department, called for everyone to work together towards a bright future, and concluded her speech with a message in Chinese to encourage the FLIS family: Jiayou, dajia(加油,大家)! Afterwards, each principal presented their plans for this academic year. We also included a short video in the live opening ceremony: although you couldn't be there on the day of the ceremony, FLIS graduate, Smile, recorded a video of her walking around the campus, taking everyone on a “live tour” of the campus!
This year's first visitors to the FLIS campus were the ECE Nursery classes - they started a week before the other students to get used to school life. It was their first hands-on experience of life within a school community, and they did a great job! We hope the kids are happy and healthy as they continue on their future paths at school!
