Primary Student Council

The Primary Student Council (PSC) is a new organization designed for demonstrating and promoting positive leadership skills while working in a team. The Primary Student Council (PSC) population consists of 36 students in grades 3, 4 and 5. There are 6 divisions within the council. Each division has 6 members that are tasked with specific responsibilities. Members will campaign within their division for the following positions within their group: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Artist and Master of Ceremony. The students were excited about their new organization and were anxious to join.

PSC will focus on several objectives throughout the year. Here is brief synopsis about some of the goals we hope to accomplish at FLIS during the first quarter. Our first objective is to ensure our presence is known throughout the campus. Staff members and students will be able to identify a PSC representative due to their sashes.

PSC members will be available during arrival and dismissal times to greet students, staff members and parents as they enter and leave the school. PSC members hope to improve the flow of traffic inside the canteen during their lunch period and insure other students are following the playground rules. PSC members will also help design and create the 2019 Halloween Event at FLIS.

The PSC is full of energetic boys and girls who are excited about being a part of an organization they are creating and make decisions about. PSC will be a stepping stone for children to work collectively to discuss their ideas and suggestions for the school. It will allow them to not only generate these ideas but create methods to bring them into fruition. Students will be achievers and philosophers. I’m excited about this new adventure and look forward to working with the children in the Primary Student Council.
