The theme of this year's Chinese Speech Contest for the Primary was "What superpower would you like to have the most?" The whole competition was like a wonderful dream, taking students to the world of superpowers: some students wanted to travel through time and space to have a long talk with the ancients and feel the thickness and depth of history; some dreamed of having a hard shell, like a warrior, to protect their own softness and innocence; some hoped to have the ability to read minds and understand the inner world of other people; some fantasized about mastering the power of healing and curing those who suffer from illnesses and pains; and some hoped to have the ability to be in many places at once and spread happiness and love to every corner...The contestants stood boldly on the stage to express themselves, with a determined light in their eyes, which moved the judges, and their innocent language lit up our infinite longing for the future.

The theme of this year's speech contest for the Secondary continues from last year's "Speak your mind", focusing on self-awareness - "I am different". It is hoped that students from different countries, nationalities, and with different life experiences can correctly recognize their own characteristics and differences with others, so as to better get along with others and the world.

Andrew from MYP1 started with a video about being a game anchor and being maliciously criticized by netizens ("stuttering" "not being able to speak clearly"). He shared his journey from feeling sad and low self-esteem when he saw the criticisms to facing his weaknesses and ignoring online violence through his mother's encouragement. He won the champion of the lower grade group for courage and strong power in his speech!

Bonnie from the senior group wrote a letter to one of the most familiar yet strange "friends", telling her, who is quiet in the crowd but has a unique way of thinking about everything around her, that only by truly accepting your imperfect and somewhat strange self will you have the ability to love the world. As the English writer Oscar Wilde said, "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance." The letter was well received by the judges.

In the speech, each student sincerely and objectively told the story of self-knowledge and growth. May all of you have the courage to be "different", bravely pursue your dreams and ideal life, and live out your unique self!
