I am a South African who has been living and working in China for 6 years. I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology, Genetics and Psychology, which included courses in neuroscience, child development and child psychology. After my studies I completed 200 course hours for Teaching English as a Foreign Language at which point I came to China to teach. Most recently I have completed my Master of Advanced Teaching degree which has provided me with a more in-depth understanding of the theory behind teaching, learning, and best practice.
Along with these qualifications, I have also completed my UNISA Grade 5 music theory qualification, ABRSM Grade 8 Classical Singing qualification, and Enterprises Exercise and Nutrition Science course.
My teaching philosophy focuses on constructivist and experiential learning approaches. By creating memorable experiences and learning in an active, hands-on way, we create lasting memories and form better connections between the different skills and concepts that we learn, and real life. Through this, I hope to make a positive and lasting impact on all students who come through my classroom.
我是一名南非人,已在中国的生活、工作了6年。我拥有人体生理学、遗传学与心理学专业的理学学士学位,所学课程涵盖神经科学、儿童发展和儿童心理学。毕业后,我完成了200学时的TEFL课程,随后来到中国从事教学工作。最近,我完成了高级教学硕士学位,这使我对教学理论、学习过程及最佳实践有了更深入的理解。
除了这些资格证书外,我还完成了南非大学(UNISA)音乐理论五级证书、英国皇家音乐学院联合委员会(ABRSM)古典声乐八级证书,以及企业运动与营养科学课程。
我的教学理念注重建构主义和体验式学习方法。通过创造难忘的体验并以积极、动手的方式学习,我们能够形成持久的记忆,并更好地将所学技能和概念与现实生活建立联系。通过这种方式,我希望对所有进入我课堂的学生产生积极而持久的影响。
