对不少人来说，刚刚过去的这个周末是极其难忘的——毕竟一年一度的超级购物节早就通过各种造势，让人心痒不已；而对福州西湖国际学校的足球队员来说，这也是别具意义的两天：福州市鼓楼区校园足球联赛终于在这周拉开了序幕！

For many people, this past weekend was very memorable. The annual shopping festival made everyone itch to go on a shopping spree and take advantage of all the special promotions. The Fuzhou Lakeside International School soccer team also had a memorable weekend. Saturday and Sunday marked the first two games of the Fuzhou Junior Football League Championship season!

早在开学初，FLIS球员们就常常询问老师：我们什么时候能打比赛呀？球队教练Mr. M老师也一直在对球员们进行训练。现在，是时候上场检验我们的实力了！FLIS足球队在本次联赛的首场比赛中对阵福州市鼓楼实验小学，尤为令人振奋的是，我们顺利以9:6击败对手，取得开门红！

Since the beginning of the school year students have been asking, “When can we play?” In October training began in earnest under the guidance our own Mr. M. Now it's time to put the FLIS soccer team through the paces! Our first game we played against Fuzhou Gulou District Experimental Elementary School. We beat the team 9 to 6!

第二天的比赛对手是茶园山小学，大家一鼓作气，配合也较之第一天来得更加默契。队员们奋力拼抢、积极带球过人，最终，我们以8:2再次获得胜利！

The next day we played Fuzhou Chayuanshan Elementary School. The FLIS soccer team played harder and dramatically improved their game. Some remarkable goals propelled us to a victory of 8 to 2!

希望这一梦幻开局能给今年FLIS足球队的联赛之旅带来好运。感谢家长、教练们的全力支持，感谢对手与我们联袂奉献了精彩的比赛，接下来我们也会稳扎稳打、刻苦训练，争取今年再创佳绩！

Hopefully such a fortuitous beginning will bring us good luck for this upcoming season. Thanks to parents and teachers for all their support! We also feel so grateful to our esteemed competitors for providing us with such close competition. With continued training we will become a true force to be reckoned with.
