随着端午假期的结束，本学期也将近尾声。为了弘扬传统文化，也为了给孩子们一个展示中文学习成果的舞台，FLIS举办了首届“屈原杯”诗歌朗诵比赛！
Now that the Dragon Boat Festival has passed, we are fast approaching the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer holiday. In order to pass on our traditional culture and give our children an opportunity to demonstrate their Chinese language skills, Fuzhou Lakeside International School held the first Qu Yuan Chinese Poetry Reading Contest last week!

我们邀请了深谙音乐与韵律之美的潘老师、深受学生喜爱的中文部Melinda老师以及资深国家普通话测试员翁老师、热情可爱的家长评委包女士做评委。每位参赛选手都精心准备了朗诵的篇目，并为自己的朗诵挑选了适合的配乐。一等奖的获得者，六年级的Steve Li别出心栽地用西方流行乐曲《Faded》做朗诵《再别康桥》的背景音乐，四年级的Betty为参赛的Elaine现场电子琴配乐，为其朗诵添色不少；服装方面也是各有亮点，有着古装汉服的，有穿蒙古民族服装朗诵《敕勒歌》的；还有些孩子在站姿、仪态方面都下了苦工，处处可见用心，以期契合诗词的意境……不得不提的是小学组比赛中，几位韩国小朋友们在开场表演了一段动物绕口令，赢得了阵阵喝彩:)

We invited Mr. Pan, who specializes in music, Ms. Melinda, a Chinese language teacher, and Ms. Weng to be judges. Each contestant prepared their poems and background music carefully. The first-prize winner, Steve Li, from sixth grade, creatively chose the electronic music Faded as his background music for the poem Saying Good-bye to Cambridge Again. Betty, from forth grade, accompanied Elaine on the electronic keyboard, for an exceptional performance. All the contestants wore a unique costume with their own special styles. Some of them wore Han Chinese clothing while others wore Mongolian costumes to read Imperial Le Song. It was obvious that they worked very hard on their posture and other details to match the artistic conception of the poems. The Korean students also presented an amazing animal tongue twister which was received with a big round of applause.
