2024年10月17日，来自菲律宾的怡朗华商学院到访福州西湖国际学校。怡朗华商学院成立于1912年，至今已有112年的历史。

On October 17, 2024, Hua Siong College of Iloilo (HSCI) from the Philippines visited Fuzhou Lakeside International School. Established in 1912, Hua Siong College of Iloilo has a history of 112 years.

二十世纪初，怡朗华商学院诞生于菲律宾怡朗市，作为一所菲律宾华人学校，这标志着该群体不可避免地成为怡朗重要组成部分。这所学校是该地区第一所菲华学校，也是菲律宾第二历史悠久的菲华学校，其创立为怡朗市及邻省引入了华文教育。百年来，怡朗华商学院经历二次世界大战、全市火灾，几经更名、数次修缮扩建仍屹立不倒，如今校友遍布菲律宾各地，在华侨社会中具有重要地位。

On February 25, 1912, the birth of a Filipino-Chinese school in Iloilo City signified the inevitable emergence of the Filipino-Chinese community as an important integral part of Iloilo City. Now known as Hua Siong College of Iloilo, Inc. (HSCI), it holds the distinction of being the first Filipino-Chinese school in the region and the second oldest in the Philippines following Tiong Se Academy which was founded in 1899 in Binondo, Manila. The founding of the school introduced Chinese education to the city of Iloilo and the neighboring provinces. Over the past hundred years, Hua Siong College of Iloilo has gone through World War II, citywide fires, several time name changes, restorations and expansions, and has prominent alumni all over the Philippines, with an important position in the Overseas Chinese community.

一所IB学校应该是什么样的？为了适应菲律宾当地日益增长的国际教育需求，华商学院希望通过参访各地的IB学校，以增进对其了解。为此，FLIS为参访团安排了校园游览、课堂观摩及交流沙龙等行程，双方就IB教学理念的认识与实践、FLIS成功申请IB(MYP)世界学校的相关经验等议题展开交流。

What does an IB world school look like? In order to meet the growing local demand for international education in the Philippines, HSCI hopes to improve its understanding by visiting outstanding IB schools around the world. To this end, FLIS arranged campus tours, classroom observations, and exchange conferences for the delegation, where both sides exchanged views on the understanding and practice of the IB teaching philosophy, and FLIS's experience in successfully applying for IB (MYP) World Schools.

近两年，FLIS也正式进入了IB(PYP)的候选准备阶段，通过各种方式学习、完善IB教学体系，我们期待在与其他优秀学校的合作交流中不断成长，共同推动IB教育的发展，为更多的国际生提供更专业、更全面的教育资源！

In the past two years, FLIS ECE and Primary has begun work on the IB Candidacy phase. The whole school is learning and perfecting the IB education in various ways. We are looking forward to growing in cooperation and exchanges with other excellent schools, working together to promote the development of IB education, and to provide international students with professional and comprehensive educational resources!
